In Celebration
Louis Dentison (L.D.) Williams, 68, left us to be with the Lord on November 23, 2018. He was surrounded by family. Born February 19, 1950 in Little Rock Arkansas to the late Louis Edward Williams and Essie Marie (Counts) Williams. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Pat Brown. The youngest of 3 siblings, he was always an artistic and musical spirit. Beginning at the age of 5, he played in a gospel band on the radio with his mom and sisters and even at such a young age, commanded an audience with his energy and charisma. He met the love of his life, his wife Gail (Bakalekos) Williams at the age of 18. Together, they had two beautiful daughters and embarked on 50 years of marriage. He was a very special man with a bright spirit that celebrated life, God, his family and friends. He touched so many people through his talent, love for life, and music. L.D. never met a stranger and always knew the right moment to lighten the room with his sense of humor.

The last time I saw LD in person was at Vanessa and Stephen’s wedding here in Little Rock. He and Gail had been working along with the rest of us to get final preparations done. He was sitting there with a soda resting for a minute and I sat down beside him for a second. He said he was fine and looked out over the valley and around the deck and said it was the “prettiest place for the prettiest bride”. He sure loved his daughters and his family. He was a wonderful person and example of how a father and husband should be. Love to the family.

Gail, I was looking a couple weeks ago of Cole setting up the Christmas at the Santa station that comes in on the helicopter, remembering last year when LD and I decorated. It was a fun day and LD taught me so much. I missed you both after you’ll moved to Florida but glad you’ll had a chance to move home. You know how much I love Florida. LD is and will be missed. Much love and prayers.

My heart hurts for you Gale, I know how much you two relied on one another. LD always spoke so lovingly about you, he was a very kindhearted gentleman. I learned so much working with him, and always admired his talent. I will keep you all in my prayers for that special peace which surpasses all understanding.❤️
