Donald Lee Fuell, 85, of Clermont, Florida passed away peacefully at home on November 20, 2024. He
was born on November 26, 1938 in Grant, Alabama to the late Rubert and Edna Fuell. He is preceded in
death by wife Nancy Fuell; siblings Wiley Joe (Pos) Fuell and Margaret Fuell; and many extended family
members, great friends and his beloved pets.
Don grew up in and around Guntersville, Alabama where he worked hard and became an excellent
athlete with many achievements in football, baseball and basketball as a young man. He also carried his
love of these sports into careers in college at Southern Mississippi and professional football. He retired
after a long career in the aerospace industry.
He always enjoyed playing golf, vacations, college sports, various wild birds and animals passing through
our little sanctuary and loved being the gracious host when friends or family visited. An honorable man
that was full of knowledge and memories gained from a long lifetime of experiences and a true and loyal
friend to many.
Don is survived by his loving life partner Joni Horne; children Donald Lee Fuell Jr. (Patty Lindsay), Donna (Jay) Evans, Carla Risher; grandchildren Julianna (Josh) Abel, Jason (Jennifer) Evans, William (Val) Evans, Anna (Jack) MacDonald, Karrie (Jeremy) Risher, Meagan (Kyle) Grimes, Daniel (Kayla) Risher, Lindsay Risher (Jon) and Sandra Bohn; as well as 11 great grandchildren; and his dear four legged companion Gracie.
He did not want formal services planned, but a loving celebration of his life will be held in Spring 2025 in and around his homeplace in Guntersville, Alabama…. an informal gathering of loved ones would always meet with his approval.
