Gordon M. Foss, 89, of Apopka, Florida, and Moultonboro, New Hampshire, passed away on September 11, 2023.
Gordon “Mike” Foss was born on October 11, 1933 to the late Clyde B. and M. Verna Foss in Laconia, New Hampshire, where he attended Laconia High School before attending the University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH. After college, he was Owner and President of the Clyde B. Foss Insurance Agency Inc. for 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie Barahona. He is survived by his loving wife, Colette Foss and their granddaughter, Lucienne Barahona; daughters Pamela (Edward) Kent, Deborah Butler, and Kimberly Foss (Brian Michaelis); sons Douglas (Deborah) Foss and Matthew Foss; son-in-law Jorge Barahona. He was a loving grandfather to 12 additional grandchildren; and to 17 beloved great grandchildren, as well.
Mr. Foss was a dedicated member of his community, both in New Hampshire and Florida, having served rolls as: Supervisor of the Checklist, Moultonboro, NH; Chairman, Moultonboro Planning Board; Member & Chairman, Moultonboro Academy School Board; Founder & President, Red Hill Outing Club, Moultonboro; a 50-Year Member of Moultonboro Grange; Past President & Director of the Lakes Region Chordsmen, in Laconia, NH; Member, United Methodist Church of Moultonboro, NH; Member, First United Methodist Church of Dunedin, Fl; Former Advisory Committee Member, Concord Group Insurance Co., in Concord, NH; Trustee, Tilton School, in Tilton, NH; Past-Member, Executive Committee of Independent Insurance Agents of NH; Past Board Member, Professional Insurance Agents of New England; Past Member, Waukewan Golf Club, in Meredith, NH; Member, Moultonboro Historical Society; and, Board Member at Dunedin First Methodist Church, Dunedin, FL.
Mike Foss was a devoted family man who was interested in the Barbershop & Gospel Singing, Golfing, Skiing, Hiking, Snowshoeing, Sailing, Traveling and Reading. He will be missed by his many loved ones and friends.
