Mr. Victor “Vic” Dunlap

Victor “Vic Dunlap II, 58, passed away on Saturday April 30th, 2022, at the Cornerstone Hospice facility
in Orlando/Ocoee, Florida. Vic was born in Charleston, SC where he spent his younger years on the Isle of Palms. In 1970 his family moved to Winter Park, Florida. Vic graduated in 1982 from Lake Howell High School. During his time at Lake Howell, he excelled in football and wrestling. He later attended Newberry College in South Carolina, where he played football for 2 years. Vic worked at Walt Disney World’s Contemporary resort in 1982 as a Lifeguard and water ski instructor. He then left the company to enlist in the army, following in the footsteps of his father. While in the army. Vic became a member of the Special Forces and Airborne. He was deployed to Panama during Desert Storm. At the end of his service, Vic transitioned into the National Guard while returning to work at Walt Disney World Resort. In 1994, hearing about the plans to open an additional hotel, Vic applied to be a part of the opening team for Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. At this resort Vic met his future wife and soulmate Catherine “Cathy” Dunlap. The pair were married in 1996 in Northern New York. Vic and Cathy welcomed a daughter, Eleanor “Elle” Marion Dunlap in November of 1998. Leaving the Walt Disney Company in the early 2000s, Vic opened his own water filtration company known as Aquaficient. Vic’s passions included deep sea fishing, hunting, and watching his daughter play volleyball. An avid fisherman who would run his boat into the deep waters of the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico in search of the perfect catch. Vic is survived by his wife, Cathy and daughter. Elle.
