Charlotte Jane Stewart Williams passed away November 19, 2023, after a long battle with complications from illnesses that included Diabetes and Carotid Artery Stenosis.
Jane, as she was known by family and friends, had been a resident of Mount Dora since she was 6 years old when the family relocated from the south Alabama area. She attended Roseborough Elementary School and graduated from Mount Dora High School, Class of 1972. She was the fifth of seven children born to the late Buford and Agnes Stewart, and she was a force for them to be reckoned with, a beautiful blond-haired blue-eyed force bursting with independence but tempered with equal amounts of love. She worked locally in the service industry throughout her entire life and was co-owner of J&J’s at Liggett’s in Apopka in the early 2000’s.
Jane was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Earle Austin, II and Buford Stuart Austin, both of whom fought a valiant battle with Muscular Dystrophy. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Waters-Todd, her granddaughter, Jaycie Todd and her grandson, Jaren Todd, her absolute pride and joy. Additionally, she is survived by five of her six siblings, brothers Billy, Jerry, Steve, and Dennis Stewart, and her sister, Lynn Stewart Kennedy (brother Roger deceased), her love of many years, domestic partner and care giver Daniel Young, and a host of very loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 23 rd at the Donelly Park Building, 900 N. Donnelly St, Mount Dora, Florida.
