Angeles Marrero, known as Angie, passed away on September 29, 2024, at the age of 60. Angie was the second child of Dr. Miguel A. Marrero Bonilla (deceased), and Ramonita Rivera Maldonado, of Puerto Rico. Angie was born on December 15, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, where her
father began his residency. The family moved to St Louis, Missouri for her father’s orthopedic surgery training, and then they moved back to Puerto Rico, where Angie and her four siblings grew up in an energetic, lively and loving home with her siblings, cousins, and all their friends. Angie graduated from Academia San Jose in Villa Caparra in 1981. She attended the University of Sacred Heart in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, where she graduated with a degree in Communications. She then left the Island to move to California, where she completed a Masters in Psychology at
San Diego State University.
Angie moved across the country and made Orlando her home in 1996. There she worked as a Child Psychologist, touching the lives of many, as she loved helping the kids and their families. She spent many wonderful times together working and socializing with her colleagues, and she
delighted in the food so many of the families lovingly made for her in appreciation of her work with them.
Angie celebrated life with passion, but the apple of Angie’s eye was her beloved son Alexis (17). She loved spending time with him and his friends, and she was so proud of all his accomplishments and the young man he has grown to be. Angie’s eyes would open, wide and bright, when was talking about Alexis.
Angie had many girlfriends and loved spending time with them all. She never missed a party and loved dancing and having fun. She loved painting, crafts, and making jewelry. She was always making gifts for her friends and family with love. She adored dogs and was proud owner of
Balzac and then Paco.
Her family and friends will miss her kind and encouraging words, positive attitude, and beautiful smile. She was always there, for both the good times and for the hard times. Angie left us too soon and will be greatly missed in Florida and Puerto Rico. Angie is survived by her son Alexis Garcia; her mother Ramonita; her siblings and in-laws; Gloria (and Ted) Chambers; Miguel (and Maria Helena) Marrero; Luis Marrero; Eric Marrero. Her nieces and nephews: Angelica and Patricia Marrero, Victor and Daniel Marrero; Theo and Gabriela Chambers. She is also survived by many cousins, relatives and close friends.
The funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Orlando, Florida, and burial will be held at Queen of Angels Cemetery in Winter Park, Florida. A private Mass offered for her soul will be held at Stella Maris Catholic Church in Condado Puerto Rico on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network: https://pancan.org, in Angie’s name.

Querida Familia:
No saben lo que sentimos la partida de Angie al Cielo tan temprano. Les deseamos mucha
Fortaleza, Paz, y Tranquilidad en estos momentos tan tristes para
Alexis, Rami, hermanos y demás familia y amigos.
Que by the way le quedó
perfecto.
