James R. Loomis, Sr., son of Francis E. Loomis, following in the footsteps of his father, graduated from the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in February of 1966 and after 2 years of internship, received his license as a Funeral Director & Embalmer in 1968. James Loomis, Sr. known by most as Jim, was born and reared in Winter Garden, Fl., attended Elementary School and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1963. Jim’s education included – Valencia Community College, Orlando Jr. College, University of Fl., University of Miami and Kentucky School of Mortuary Science. Jim serves his community in various clubs and organizations Apopka Rotary Club where is he received the Paul Harris Award, Masonic Lodge #165, The Apopka Historical Society, Apopka Foliage Sertoma Club, Chamber of Commerce and Member Errol County Club. In 1965, Jim, married Betty Beasley, a resident of Ocoee, Fl. and a graduate from Ocoee High School.

Betty, has been a strong supporter of Jim and his success in his life long goals. Betty chose to be a homemaker, until their 2 sons – James R. Loomis, Jr. (Bob) and Steven Paul Loomis, were of school age. Betty, attended Valencia Community College and Nova University. Working in the Education and accounting field has been an asset to helping the family in their Family Owned and Operated Business. Betty, serves her community as a member of the Apopka Woman’s Club.
James “Bob” Loomis Jr.

In 1967, James R. Loomis, Jr. also known as Bob was born in Orlando, Fl. where he attended Spring Lake Elementary School and Graduated from West Orange High School in 1986. After Graduation Bob continued his education at Valencia Community College and later received a Class A Journeyman Electrician License. Working in this field for a couple of years Bob decided to return to the business of funeral service and attended Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service. Bob graduated in 1995 from Gupton and was a member of the Pi Sigma Eta National Morticians Fraternity. Bob, has 2 sons, James R. Loomis III, and Mark Bradley Loomis. Bob is involved in numerous Community Organizations – President of Rotary Club, Board of Directors of the Apopka Chamber of Commerce, Apopka Foliage Sertoma Club, Elks Lodge #2422 and Errol Country Club.
Steven P. Loomis Sr.

Steven Paul Loomis. Born in 1971 in Apopka, Florida, attended Spring Lake Elementary School and graduated from West Orange High School in 1989. Steven is married to Paulette Smith, from Apopka, Fl. Steven and Paulette were married in 1994 and have 2 sons, Steven Paul Loomis, Jr. and Trevor Owen Loomis. Steven attended Gupton Jones College of Funeral Services, where he graduated with Honors in 1994. Steven was also a member of Pi Sigma Eta Fraternity, in College. Steven, is very active in the Community, He is serving his 4th consecutive year of Sergeant Of Arms in Apopka Foliage Sertoma Club, Elks Lodge 2422, member of Apopka Chamber of Commerce and Errol County Club.
William R Gray
Funeral Director
William R. Gray began working at Loomis Family Funeral Home part time while in High School in 1998. After graduation in 2001 William attended and graduated with a degree in mortuary science from Gupton-Jones College in Atlanta, Georgia. He served his internship and passed his Florida State board becoming a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in 2006.
Charles T. Tommy Morgan

Charles T. “Tommy” Morgan is a life long resident of the Apopka area. He graduated from Apopka Memorial High School in 1971 and has worked in several different industries over a forty plus year time period. He has always been interested in the funeral industry and was able to achieve his goal of becoming a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer after graduating from St. Petersburg College in 2010, with a degree in Funeral Services.
